The OMEGA Series is a solid-state, point-to-point wireless radio system operating in a variety of available bands to suit any requirement. The system uses state-of-the-art technology and the latest microstrip design to provide maximum reliability. The system features modular construction of all RF and electronic assemblies to allow easy access for maintenance, field upgrading, and expansion. A motherboard/backplane design eliminates wire harness and interconnect cables.
The OMEGA Series FM system provides broadcast quality video with audio and for data subcarriers at rates up to E1 (2.048 megabits per second). The OMEGA Series is designed for a wide range of applications, such as video teleconferencing, surveillance, remote monitoring and control, and broadcast ENG (news gathering vehicle) requirements.
The transmitter RF unit contains a Gunn diode oscillator that is directly modulated by the baseband signal and frequency tunable. The high stability synthesizer maintains the proper operating frequency under stringent environment conditions. The receiver RF unit uses a Gunn diode oscillator and a mixer/pre-amplifier to convert the input microwave signal to an intermediate frequency. The unique modular design allows one (4RU) equipment shelf to support any system application of simplex, duplex, multiplex, hot-standby, or space-diversity configuration.
