L-3 GS&ES Awarded New ID/IQ Contract for Biometric Support
CHANTILLY, Va., January 30, 2009 – L-3 Global Security & Engineering Solutions (L-3 GS&ES) recently became primary subcontractor to SAIC for the DoD Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA) Biometric Operations and Support Services-Unrestricted (BOSS-U) contract. This is a new ID/IQ contract awarded by the Information Technology, E-commerce and Commercial Contracting Center (ITEC4) for the Biometrics Task Force (BTF), the Executive Manager (EM) for DoD Biometrics. This contract has a three-year base period beginning December 30, 2008, with two one-year options. The overall value ceiling for this contract is set at $497 million. L-3 GS&ES will be the facial and iris recognition equipment provider on the SAIC Team and has two other L-3 divisions as second-tier subcontractors-MPRI and EITS.
