FAA Awards $9 Million Task Order to L-3 GS&ES

CHANTILLY, Va., June. 20, 2008 – L-3 Global Security & Engineering Solutions (L-3 GS&ES), has been awarded a task order with a value of over $9 million to provide technical and management services to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) program. The task order was competed under the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center's Communications, Navigation & Surveillance (CNS) Omnibus program. ADS-B is one of the systems being developed to improve aircraft surveillance capabilities over current FAA radar systems. L-3 GS&ES is working closely with the FAA to ensure that ITT, the ADS-B system prime contractor, meets all technical and management requirements.
