Operations Research Analyst - (GSES MS44250)

Tampa, FL

Duties include (but are not limited to): (1) Apply objective, analytical, and orderly thinking to the methodology (2) Assist and supervise the conduct of both quantitative and qualitative analysis (3) Assist in summarizing the analyses in simplified terms to present to decision makers. More specifically, (4) Conduct analyses and studies to generate Program Objective Memorandum (POM) force structures that support the JMA process, the Strategic Planning Process, the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR), and the development of the Irregular Warfare concepts that are critical to the execution of Overseas Contingency Operations activities (5) Apply mastery level skill in advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical techniques related to statistical analysis, parametric and non-parametric analysis, computer modeling, simulation, decision theory, mathematical programming, regression analysis, and economic analysis (6) Serve as a senior analyst in an analysis cell responsible for developing analytical models and methods (7) Advise other operations research analysts, scientists, or engineerson techniques best suited for analyzing their problems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (1) Degree Requirements: masters degree from an accredited college or university in operations research plus 5 to 8 years of task related experience, OR a bachelors degree from an accredited college in engineering (usually industrial engineering), science, economics, mathematics, or management science with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus with at least 12 years of task related experience. (2) Relevant Experience (amount and type): included in degree requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (1) Solid understanding of the USSOCOM mission and technical requirements. (2) Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. (3) Well organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. (4) Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. (5) Able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. (6) Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client's standards.
